Brookland Infant School
A leaking 690m² three-layer felt roof over a working infant school, stripped back, re-decked as a warm roof and waterproofed with FLEXITEC in just three weeks.
The challenge
The 690m² flat roof over this infant school had reached the end of its life. The twenty-year-old three-layer felt covering was leaking and the building needed a permanent waterproofing solution rather than another patch repair.
The solution
The contractor chose FLEXITEC for the refurbishment. The old covering and rooflights were stripped out, new decking was laid and the roof was rebuilt as a warm roof. Because the work ran through high summer temperatures, the FLEXITEC Summer Additive was used to extend pot life and cure time.
The result
The FLEXITEC liquid system was applied successfully and resolved every existing problem. The whole refurbishment was completed in only three weeks, leaving the building with a durable waterproof roof backed by a 20-year guarantee.
