Pavilion in the Park
Ornate roof timbers ruled out stripping and replacing the covering. Instead, the cracked felt was primed and overlaid with FLEXITEC, keeping the pavilion’s character intact.
The challenge
This pavilion was originally roofed in foil-faced felt, which had begun to crack and peel away across large areas. The decorative roof timbers meant the covering could not simply be torn off and replaced.
The solution
The contractor chose FLEXITEC for the refurbishment specifically to preserve the character of the building. The protective foil was removed and the felt was primed before the FLEXITEC system was applied over the top.
The result
Poor weather slowed the start, as the roofers had to dry the roof out before each application. Despite that painstaking approach, the pavilion now has a distinctive roof carrying a 20-year guarantee.
